Other Frozen Fishing Vessels (Squid, Horse Mackerel, Sardine)

CB provides refrigeration solutions for light seine fishing vessels targeting pelagic commercial fish species including squid, horse mackerel and sardine. We focus on the segmented ocean-going fishing industry and have delivered multiple benchmark 58.5 m frozen fishing vessels, with long-term stable operation verification on numerous ocean-going vessels.

Ocean-going light seine fishing vessels feature large catch volumes per operation, long navigation distance and harsh offshore working conditions. Conventional refrigeration equipment generally brings four major issues that directly cut fleet voyage revenue: insufficient quick-freezing capacity, high equipment corrosion failure rate, excessive fuel consumption and unstable catch quality grade.

To solve the above challenges, CB developed complete refrigeration solution combining batch quick-freezing and long-term low-temperature storage. Supported by mature screw refrigeration technology, delivery experience and delivery capability of dozens of real vessels, we comprehensively boost total revenue of each voyage from four dimensions: fishing efficiency, maintenance cost, fuel consumption and foreign trade premium profit.

Process of Batch Quick-Freezing & Long-Term Storage

Most fishing vessels adopt scattered separate procurement of quick-freezing and storage equipment with poor compatibility between devices. When large batches of catches are landed intensively, insufficient quick-freezing capacity leads to piled catches on deck and rapid freshness loss. On-site assembly at shipyards from split components, resulting in long construction cycles and delayed vessel delivery & commissioning.

CB provides complete solution covering screw compressor unit, liquid supply valve station, aluminum alloy shelf quick-freezers and anti-corrosion refrigeration coils. Pre-assembly and commissioning are finished in the factory, and the system can be put into operation only after pipeline connection at shipyards to shorten shipbuilding delivery cycle. The complete process balances rapid mass freezing in the early stage and long-distance low-temperature storage in the later stage, perfectly matching the pick-volume fishing mode of light seine fishing vessels. Sufficient quick-freezing capacity avoids freshness loss caused by catch accumulation and stabilizes the continuous trans-oceanic fishing production of fleets.

Intelligent Adjustable Screw Units to Sustainably Cut Fuel Consumption

Conventional refrigeration units run at fixed full load, maintaining high power output during fishing intervals and low-cargo periods, leading to high fuel costs for trans-oceanic voyages. Outdated units suffer declining heat exchange efficiency and severe cooling capacity loss, which further aggravates fuel waste and squeezes fleet profits in the long run.

CB equips capacity-regulated screw compressor unit that automatically match refrigeration output power based on real-time hold load, actively reducing output during empty or partial-load periods to avoid ineffective power and unnecessary fuel consumption. With anti-corrosion heat exchange components, heat exchange efficiency remains stable on long ocean voyages with minimal cooling loss. Compared with traditional fixed-speed units, our solution continuously reduces fuel consumption throughout the entire voyage, substantially lowering fuel operating costs and steadily improving fleet annual net profit.

Aluminum Alloy High-Efficiency Shelf Quick-Freezers Batch Rapid Freezing of Catches

Conventional steel pipe quick-freezing equipment delivers slow heat exchange. Piled mass catches cannot be fully frozen with high core temperature, making them prone to deterioration during storage. Uneven freezing of catches leads to inconsistent product grades, and selling prices will be drastically cut, resulting in heavy loss from discounted goods.

The shelf quick-freezers from CB adopt industry-level aluminum alloy plate evaporators. Based on the dual-effect quick-freezing principle of contact heat conduction + forced air blasting, realizing ultra-fast uniform-temperature drop and drastically shortening freezing duration, deliver high-efficiency productivity for ocean fishing and seafood processing.

Anti-Corrosion Refrigeration Hold Coils to Reduce Operation Costs

Ocean surface features high salt corrosion and high humidity. Ordinary steel coils are prone to rust and leakage, triggering sudden shutdown of refrigeration systems and rapid deterioration & scrappage of mass catches in the hold. Limited offshore maintenance conditions lead to long spare parts replacement cycles and high maintenance costs.

CB adopts anti-corrosion aluminum alloy evaporator fin coils and Hot-dip galvanized seamless steel pipes. The structure resists erosion from seawater, preventing corrosion and cooling leakage during long ocean voyages with sustained stable heat exchange performance. The inspection and replacement frequencies for the coils are drastically reduced, continuously cutting fleet expenditure on onboard spare parts and maintenance.
