In modern offshore and deep-sea aquaculture, the safe transport of market-sized fish from sea cages to land-based processing plants constitutes a critical link that determines the end quality of catches and economic benefits.
Traditional fish transfer faces lethal risks to live fish transport from extreme water temperature varying with seasons and locations, abrupt fluctuation in water quality, and rapid accumulation of carbon dioxide and ammonia nitrogen in water body. Uncontrolled mechanical damage to fish during conventional fish loading and unloading operations, alongside risk arising from the absence of monitoring, also pose severe challenge to live fish transportation.
CB integrates technologies including fluid, mechanical, heat exchange, control and machine vision, introduce Well Boat with scientific management covering the full chain of loading – transportation – unloading. The system satisfies live transportation demands of salmonids, suitable for other commercial fish species, enables more economical, scientific and efficient offshore live fish transportation.

High-efficiency Life Support System
To meet the strict oxygen consumption demand under extreme high-density conditions during long-distance voyage, marine oxygen generators are deployed to deliver a continuous supply of aquaculture-grade pure oxygen with purity >93%. Equipped with high-efficiency oxygen dissolving device like oxygen cone and other nano oxygenation devices, the system dissolves pure oxygen into enclosed water in a supersaturated state under set pressure, creating an oxygen-rich environment for high-value fish stocks.
Water temperature is lowered by RSW chiller unit to comprehensively reduce live fish stress and metabolic rates induced during transportation. This reduces oxygen consumption from fish movement and waste excretion. Meanwhile, low-temperature water improves oxygen dissolving capacity.
The control system automatically and dynamically adjusts the output of oxygen generation and temperature control unit in response to water quality fluctuations. It upgrades conventional empirical and extensive transportation operation to deterministic, scientific digital management.
Circulating System On Well Boat
During long-distance voyage or high-density live fish transportation, harmful carbon dioxide generated from fish metabolism, suspended particles and pathogenic bacteria originating from excreta will rapidly degrade water quality within short time. CB adopts synergy of physical treatment and biochemical disinfection to maintain water quality close to natural seawater inside fish holding.
High-capacity RDF can automatically separate and remove suspended micro solids that cannot degrade naturally in enclosed water, preventing water from quality deterioration and turbidity rising.
The CO₂ removing system eliminates carbon dioxide exhaled by fish under high-density transportation condition, preventing fish suffocation and blood acidosis from pH drop in water.
High-dose industrial-grade UV sterilization combined with ozone injection with precise dose control builds a biological firewall, effectively eradicating pathogenic bacteria and virus in the water and complying with strict biological security standard.
Loading/Unloading System
To improve efficiency and reduce fish injuries during fish transfer operation, CB fish loading and unloading system adopts a parallel vacuum pump system，dual-tank alternating operation, eliminating intermittent downtime in conventional vacuum system. Movable bulkheads are installed inside the fish hold，to enable efficient fish gathering and discharge, thus improving operational efficiency.
Combined with flow channels specially designed according to the physiological characteristics of live fish, the vacuum pumping system features smooth surface to minimize scraping injury and stress response during fish transfer, thereby improving fish survival rate.
Equipped with counter in line and grader，loading and unloading system enables a quantifiable and traceable processing management.
CB AQUASMART Control System
CB supplies automated control and multi-parameter water quality monitoring system for well boat. Coordinating local and remote operation, the system enables transparent management of the entire transportation processing.
The control system integrates the life support unit, water circulation system and fish loading & unloading system. The water quality monitoring module records environmental full-time real data. Lighting and vision systems offer operators intuitive real-time observing fish activity. Data and visual monitoring guarantee the transportation of high-value species.
