Principles of Slurry Ice Pigging


After a high concentration of slurry ice is pumped into the pipeline, a solid-like icicle is formed. Ice crystals will contact and scrape the sediments from the walls by friction and shear forces; the sediments will be washed away via the water flow.

The station‑based ice pigging system can easily extend capacity with station‑based slurry ice unit modules, with slurry ice stored in the ice crystal storage tank.
