Slurry Ice System for 23m Long‑line Fresh Tuna Vessel, South Pacific
- CB supplied a complete slurry‑ice system for an overseas fishing company’s chilled‑tuna long-liner vessels operating in the South Pacific, addressing high‑quality chilled preservation requirements for catching tuna.
The vessel is a 23 m GRP long‑liner vessel. It imposes strict requirements on equipment compactness, operational flexibility and chilled tuna preservation performance.
CB supplied system consisting of a compact slurry‑ice unit with green refrigerant, slurry‑ice buffer tank and slurry ice delivery system.
It enables rapid post‑catch chilling and long‑term chilled preservation for tuna, delivering a stable and reliable temperature‑control storage solution. The shelf‑life of chilled tuna is extended to 12‑15 days. The control logic is designed to match operators working routines; start‑stop functions are well‑aligned with fishing workflows to reduce operational workload. The solution improves the market value of chilled tuna while cutting vessel operating costs.
In recent years, the client has phased out old vessels and replaced with new‑build boats, continuing to adopt CB slurry‑ice systems to strengthen its competitive edge in the South Pacific chilled‑tuna fishery. This vessel type and slurry‑ice solution have achieved scaled commercial deployment.
