Yongli Vessel - Next-generation Onboard Krill Meal Processing System for Efficient Offshore Processing
The YongLi vessel is one of China’s first independently developed Antarctic krill fishing vessels. Equipped with an advanced continuous pumping-based harvesting system, it enables uninterrupted krill fishing operations with a daily harvesting capacity of up to 1,000 tons. As the first professional Antarctic krill offshore fishing and processing vessel in Zhejiang Province, the vessel represents a new generation of large-capacity polar fishing equipment in China, featuring ultra-large storage capacity and high processing capability.
The two Krill Meal processing systems provided by CB have a combined processing capacity of 528 tons of krill per day. The system adopts a high-efficiency single-stage continuous cooking process, enabling rapid krill processing while maintaining low-temperature operation to ensure superior Krill Meal quality and excellent product color. The system is equipped with an evaporation concentration system, which recovers soluble proteins from the liquid phase, improving Krill Meal quality and product yield. A dedicated Krill Oil production line is also integrated into the process, enabling the recovery of astaxanthin-rich Krill Oil.
The entire production process is engineered for exceptional energy efficiency. By utilizing highly thermally efficient equipment, such as the Alfa Laval CentriFlow system, together with optimized heat recovery design across each process unit, the system achieves outstanding energy utilization efficiency. The heat source for the evaporation system is supplied by waste steam generated from the dryer, while the reboiler water source is provided by process condensate generated from the evaporation system, maximizing energy recovery and improving overall system efficiency.
In addition to the Krill Meal processing system, the continuous krill pumping and harvesting system BAPV-450D55Q-K supplied by CB has also been successfully deployed on this krill vessel, representing the first China local developed product and integrated solution in this specialized field to achieve real application, breaking the long-standing dominance of overseas technologies and effectively addressing key production bottlenecks.
